My Bio

Dr. Sharon von Lentz, also known as Dr. Sharon, is a 2nd generation native of Phoenix. Her grandfather came to Phoenix in 1897. She started studying psychology at the age of 15, while still in high school because she realized it was her calling. She attended Arizona State University for her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1979. She then attended California State University, Northridge. She graduated in 1983 with a Masters in Community Clinical Psychology.

She then studied at the University of Denver’s School of Professional Psychology and received her Doctorate in Psychology in 1991. She did her internship at the Veterans Administration in Longbeach, CA. and then she worked for the Department of Defense as a psychologist for 4 years, in Longbeach and San Diego. She received a Letter of Accommodation from Admiral Houlihan for outstanding service.

Dr. Sharon became licensed as a psychologist in Arizona in 1992. She worked at the Veteran’s Administration in Phoenix for 8 years in both a clinical and administrative capacity. She was the right hand to the Chief of Mental Health who was in charge of 144 mental health employees. She received a Director’s Award for the substance abuse program to obtain additional accreditation beyond Joint Commission. In addition, she received a Director’s Award for 10 years of loyal Federal Service.

Dr. Sharon left the V.A. in 2001 to pursue private practice. Her career is highlighted by 35 years of experience working with clients treating depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. Dr. Sharon is gifted to be able to help her clients to live happier, more confident and more productive lives. Her current practice is located in Paradise Valley on Tatum Blvd. just south of Cactus Road.
